New Goldenpass Express designed by Pininfarina debuts in Switzerland
The new Golden Pass Express, a panoramic train journey in Switzerland, has begun operating - using revolutionary trains that can change gauge and height. The train connects three popular tourist destinations and offers a memorable journey through beautiful lakes, valleys, and mountain passes.

The Montreux Oberland Bernese (MOB) railway company's new Goldenpass Express, designed by Pininfarina, went into service in December 2022.
It directly connects three of the country's most popular tourist destinations: Montreux, Gstaad, and Interlaken, thanks to a revolutionary design that can change the gauge of the wheels and the height of the coach bodies.
The train follows a trade route that has existed since the Middle Ages, crossing through central Switzerland and offering a memorable journey through some of Europe's most beautiful lakes, valleys, and mountain passes.
Large windows let passengers enjoy the scenic views, and are equipped with a technology preventing reflection and reverberation on photos.
Alfredo Palma, Pininfarina's Design Project Manager, said the train offers an immersive travel experience "in total symbiosis with the beauty of the surrounding nature."
